Vom Salzburger Domkloster wurde hier, wo schon spätantikes Christentum vorhanden war, um 711 durch Rupert eine Zella gegründet, 747 erfolgte der Neubau eines Klosters. Nach Zerstörungen durch die Slawen 821 entstand ein Neubau. Eine Weihe ist für 1030 überliefert und gotische Umbauten 1327.

Le monastère de la cathédrale de Salzbourg a fondé ici, où le christianisme de l'Antiquité tardive était déjà présent, une cellule vers 711 par Rupert, et un nouveau monastère a été construit en 747. Après les destructions par les Slaves en 821, une nouvelle construction a vu le jour. Une consécration est attestée en 1030 et des transformations gothiques en 1327.
