Das Kloster wurde 662 von Audoneus, Bischof von Rouen gegründet. Es war ein Doppelkloster mit Jumièges mit Kontakten zum Pariser Hof, und es besaß ehemals drei Kirchen. Die erste Äbtissin war Austreberthe. Über die frühen Bauten gibt es keine Erkenntnisse. Von den Normannen wurde das Kloster im 9. Jahrhundert zerstört. Die heutige Kapelle Sainte-Austreberthe entstand 1091. Das Kloster wurde 1717 verlassen und ging unter.

Le monastère a été fondé en 662 par Audoneus, évêque de Rouen. C'était un monastère double avec Jumièges, avec des contacts avec la cour parisienne, et il possédait autrefois trois églises. La première abbesse était Austreberthe. Nous n'avons aucune information sur les premières constructions. Le monastère a été détruit par les Normands au 9e siècle. L'actuelle chapelle Sainte-Austreberthe fut construite en 1091. Le monastère fut abandonné en 1717 et disparut.
