676 wurde bei Gueberschwihr ein Kloster zu Ehren des Markus und des Sigismund mit dem Namen Sigismundzell gegründet. Über die frühen Bauten sind wir nicht informiert. 1050 wurde ein Neubau von Papst Leo IX. geweiht. Nach einem Brand entstand 1105 ein weiterer Neubau. Nach Verwüstungen im 16. und 17. Jahrhundert, errichtete man ein neues Konvent im Jahr 1749, die Kirche wurde 1889 erneuert.
En 676, un monastère en l'honneur de Marc et de Sigismond a été fondé près de Gueberschwihr sous le nom de Sigismundzell. Nous ne sommes pas informés sur les premières constructions. En 1050, un nouveau bâtiment a été consacré par le pape Léon IX. Après un incendie, un autre nouveau bâtiment a été construit en 1105. Après des dévastations aux 16e et 17e siècles, un nouveau couvent a été construit en 1749, l'église a été rénovée en 1889.
