510 wurde von Vigor, Bischof von Bayeux, ein Kloster St. Peter und St. Paul gegründet. Von den frühen Bauten gibt es keine Informationen. 891 wurde das Kloster bei einem Wikingerüberfall zerstört. Der bestehende Bau entstand ab 1040.

En 510, un monastère St. Pierre et St. Paul a été fondé par Vigor, évêque de Bayeux. Il n'existe aucune information sur les premières constructions. En 891, le monastère a été détruit lors d'une attaque viking. Le bâtiment existant a été construit à partir de 1040.
